Migrate Bitbucket Server and Data Center repos to GitHub.com (public beta)

Today, we're launching public beta support for Bitbucket Server and Bitbucket Data Center migrations in GitHub Enterprise Importer.

You can now easily use GitHub Enterprise Importer to migrate your source code, revision history, pull requests, reviews and comments when moving to GitHub from your self-hosted Bitbucket instance.

I've been using this tool for a few days now and have 2 suggestions and 1 question.

Question

In step 5, the last piece of the repository migration is to delete the archive, yet I've ran successful migrations, but the archive still exists on my Bitbucket Server and in S3, what am I missing?

Suggestions

1. I noticed that the Bitbucket repository description does not migrate and I'd like to see that get migrated.
2. Is it possible to bring over repository labels and put them as topics on the GitHub repository?

@michael-mulder It turns out that adding descriptions will be harder than we thought, because the archives generated by Bitbucket don't include that data. If you wanted to create a ticket with Bitbucket to raise that, that might help ✨

No, it won't. At the moment, GitHub Enterprise Importer only supports Bitbucket Server and Bitbucket Data Center - and that functionality is now generally available. You can find our recommendations for Bitbucket Cloud here.
