public bool enabled;

Description

True if this Behaviour is enabled, otherwise false.

You typically interact with this property via the derived MonoBehaviour class. You can enable a MonoBehaviour through the checkbox in the Inspector window or by setting this value from code.

Disabled MonoBehaviours don't receive regular lifecycle callbacks such as MonoBehaviour.Update but they still receive the following:

using UnityEngine;
using System.Collections;
using UnityEngine.UI; // Required when Using UI elements.

public class Example : MonoBehaviour { public Image pauseMenu;

public void Start() { //Enables the pause menu UI. pauseMenu.enabled = true; } }
